DPF CLEANING

Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) have been fitted to diesel cars since 2009, when Euro 5 emissions legislation was introduced by the EU to reduce CO2 emissions.

However, over time DPFs can become blocked, which often causes a significant loss of engine power; the result is that the vehicle feels sluggish and struggles to accelerate.

The good news is that we can thoroughly clean your DPF, which will restore your vehicle’s performance.

DPFs are designed to automatically regenerate, which means they can clean themselves.

The problem is that if vehicles only do short or stop-start journeys this is when DPFs get blocked because the engine never runs hot enough to burn off the diesel particulate deposits.

Some garages offer a forced regeneration, but this generally fails. Our approach is to remove the filters, clean them and test their performance once re-installed.
