Air Conditioning

Around 10% of air conditioning gas is lost from air con systems every year, which reduces their operating efficiency.

Depending on your make and model, at GT Autos we recommend air con systems are recharged and lubricated every two years.

Air con servicing is not part of a routine service, but if your car or van is over two years old it’s probably due to be recharged.

Maintaining air conditioning systems

Air conditioning systems that are not fully charged will be less effective and will have to work harder to keep you cool, especially in the summer months.

At GT Autos we offer a complete air conditioning recharge service and we can also clear the bacterial build up from within the system.

Air conditioning systems in cars and vans work in the same way as a domestic fridge, which use compressors to pump refrigerant gas around.

Air con condensers are often positioned where they’re exposed to cooling air, but this also means they can be damaged by debris on the road.

There are other places where the essential gas can leak from, including seals that can become brittle and porous, and hoses can also split.

If you have notice a change in the performance of your vehicle’s air conditioning system we can quickly assess and rectify any problems.
